Someday Never Comes

I need to start hammering out flower pictures from the flowers in my yard from last year. There aren’t many, but I’ve definitely fell behind in my editing of those pictures.

This collection of flower pictures was taken on July 29, 2021.

Moonflowers continue to be my favorite flowers. As signs of spring start showing up around my yard, it is time I start planning what annuals I am going to plant in my flowerpots this year and if there are any annuals I am going to add to the mix. The only thing I know for certain is that I will be thinning out some hostas and moving them in front of my house at some point this year. Last year I pulled out all the evergreen bushes from the front of my house to make room for the hostas. Now I need to get that area landscaped and looking good again.

The pictures in the folder 2011-06-08 are from a time I went with my Mom over to my Grandma’s house to photograph some of her flowers. She always had beautiful flowers.

By adding these pictures to the Photography 139 Gallery, I was able to restore the following historic “An Artist’s Notebook” entries to their original glory:

Next Saturday’s walk down memory lane will involve THE 9 EMOTIONS PROJECT.

2011-05-22, 2011-05-26, and 2011-05-27

The pictures in the folders 2011-05-22, 2011-05-26, and 2011-05-27 are mostly of irises, a flower that is well-documented to be my least favorite flower. There are also pictures from Elainie’s high school graduation and one picture from the Left Behind Party Funk and I had, but was really hosted by Sara.

The Left Behind Party, took place a few days after a billboard in Boone claimed that the world was going to end. It did not, or at least we weren’t raptured. Which is pretty much okay with me, cause I don’t believe in the rapture. Think it was something some dude just pulled out of his bum in the 19th century.

The pictures in the folder 2011-05-16 were taken at the Salama Greenhouse. Then it was the Northwest Greenhouse. I’m a pretty loyal customer to the Salama Greenhouse. It is a bit of a family tradition I would say. For both the Salamas and for my family. If you are shopping at another greenhouse, you are doing gardening wrong. I didn’t want to be the one to tell you that, but here we are.

Throw It All Away

This is the final collection of flower pictures I took at the Iowa State Fair in 2021. There are also a few pictures of a monarch butterfly that I also captured, photographically.

+++++++

This is your reminder that this week’s THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE theme is #LOVE.

WEEK 333 - LOVE
#LOVE

But what is a #LOVE photo you may be asking? It is simply a picture that you would #LOVE on Instagram. It can be a picture that depicts #LOVE or it could simply be a picture of something you #LOVE. And the thing you love can be as simple as “Man, I really love these cheesy gordita crunch!” Snap. Post. #LOVE. Although in fairness, everything from Taco Bell is gross and if you love one of those, you might have serious psychological issues. But like I said, here at Photography 139 love is love and #LOVE IS #LOVE.

If you are person that has been through some stuff, and there is a burned out husk where your heart used to be, I got you. Think on these kinds of #LOVE:

+ Philia – affectionate love. A love that runs deep in true friendships.
+ Pragma – enduring love. Mature love that develops over time.
+ Storge – familiar love. Love between parents and children or childhood friends and siblings.
+ Eros – romantic love. Infatuation and physical pleasure.
+ Ludus – playful love. Flirting and beginning stages of intimate love.
+ Mania – obsessive love. Obsessiveness or madness over a love partner. This might be called stalking these days.
+ Philautia – self love. Having a healthy self-compassion love towards one’s self.
+ Agape – selfless love. An empathetic attitude of love for everyone and anyone. Also describes God’s infinite, unconditional love.

You find just one of these types of love, or a disgusting cheesy gordita crunch, and you’re photo harvesting will go just fine.

The Easy Part’s Over

Here is another collection of pictures of flowers from my Mom’s yard. The pink flower is a pink rain lily. It is housed in a metal pot and it is stored in the basement during the winter months. Right now, if you are in my basement bathroom, you can see the empty pots waiting to be placed outside again in the spring. These pictures were taken on a couple different dates.

2011-04-10, 2011-04-17, and 2011-04-23

The pictures in the folders 2011-04-10, 2011-04-17, and 2011-04-23 are mostly of tulips from a trip I took to Pella back in 2011. But there are also a couple pictures there from Year 2 of the RANDOM WEEKLY PHOTO EXPERIMENT.
