I don’t think it is too bold of a statement to say that this is the only calendar that will ever include a picture of a cat in it.
January
Today is the last day to order the 2016 PHOTOGRAPHY 139 CALENDAR for this weekend delivery.
Looking back at my records, as near as I can tell, the first year I made a calendar for was 2001. That means this years calendar is the sixteenth calendar I have produced.
I don’t have templates or know what was on the calendar before 2005.
However, I thought it would be a fun little exercise to look back at the calendars from the last 10 years. Starting with the 2006 Calendar:
Remember, there is still time to order your 2016 PHOTOGRAPHY 139 CALENDAR. I know a guy that knows a guy that can hook you up.
WARNING!
WHAT FOLLOWS IS A TRANSMISSION FROM PHOTOGRAPHY 139’S SHAMELESS COMMERCE DIVISION…
I did get a late jump on the calendars this year, but there is and will be a PHOTOGRAPHY 139 2016 CALENDAR for sale. I haven’t laid my hands on them yet, but the stash will arrive on Friday and be available for weekend delivery.
All the pre-orders will be fulfilled this weekend.
This year’s price is… $11.00… cheap.
The best way to order your calendar is to contact me via email bennett@photography139.com.
Here is a look at this year’s images.
There were requests this year that the calendar to include a wider swath of my work besides just photos. Apparently, more than just Russell hate my flower photography. I took this under consideration, but it just didn’t work out this year. However, the 2017 Calendar will consist of more than just flower pictures.
This week was perilously close to the first strike for the WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE. But there was a lone submission.
This week’s submissions:
Maybe next week’s theme will ring more bells. Maybe next week’s theme will be the first strike.
Next week’s theme:
Should be a simple and easy theme. Take a BLACK AND WHITE picture. Of literally, anything.
As always, I’ll be excited to see the submissions.
Who doesn’t like closing the week with a picture of a flower from the Iowa State Fair?
Okay, I do know a couple such people.

Sharing another picture from a west(ish) Kansas sunset because Laura says that west(ish) Kansas has the best sunsets.
When I told people I was going to visit Manhattan, they usually say: “Cool!”
Then I say, “No, the one in Kansas.”
Then they say, “Oh.”
After a long bit of silence they say, “Why?”
I can’t say that the restaurants have as good of food as real Manhattan (but Nate’s food more than compensates) or the sites are as interesting as real Manhattan. But the people can’t be beat. Think I’ll go back in January.

If I didn’t already have an established protocol for the naming of the WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE journal entries, I might have named this here entry: WHERE HAVE ALL THE DUDES GONE?
Male participation has declined dramatically in the last couple of weeks. I’m not complaining for personal reasons. I’ll never complain about being surrounded by such lovely ladies. I’m just saying its weak. Get on it men!
Here are this week’s submissions for STILL LIFE:
Time to look to the future and reveal this week’s theme:
But how does one define GAMES? I would define it like this:
GAMES – noun – a form of play or sport, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decide by skill, strength, or luck.
Nothing new from Photography 139’s Shameless Self-Promotion Divison to report.
As always, I look forward to seeing this week’s submissions!
