With working from home and rarely going more than a mile from my house, I have taken so many flower pictures this year. So many.
We did it people! 42 straight weeks of double digit submissions. It only took the slightest bit of prodding this morning. WooHoo! 43 straight weeks should be easy as falling off a log. Or so I’m told. I’ve never fallen off a log.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHY 139 RULES DIVISION
The picture has to be taken the week of the theme. This isn’t a curate your pictures challenge. This is a get your butt off the couch (my personal experience) and put your camera in your hands challenge. Don’t send me a picture of you next to the Eiffel Tower, when I know you were in Iowa all week. I will point out that I have let that slide some in the past. I will not in the future. Since it is literally about the only rule.
Your submission needs to be emailed to bennett@photography139.com by 11 AM on the Monday of the challenge due date.
OR
I now allow people to text me their submissions. In the past, I had made exceptions for a couple people that aren’t real computer savvy, even though it was an inconvenience for me and required at least 3 extra steps for me. I am now lifting that embargo because I have a streamline way of uploading photos. I’m not giving out my phone number, but if you have it, you can text me.
It should be pointed out that this blog auto-publishes at 12:01 on Mondays. So it wouldn’t hurt to get your picture in earlier.

That’s all I got for today, so if the good Lord’s willin’ and the creek don’t rise, we will commune right here again next Monday. Hopefully it will be a very animalistic Monday!
On July 12 our church started having church services again. We are doing it in as responsible as a manner as I can concoct. It is outside at Herman Park. Masks are required. Free masks are handed out. There is only one bulletin per month. Social distancing is enforced. People are encouraged to bring their own chairs. People can sit in their cars and listen to the service on a low power radio transmission.
Here are some pictures from the first two services:
Our worship service is at 9 AM at Herman Park. All are welcome.
I was glad to see that so much of the artwork of the youth has been incorporated into the worship service. It makes the park feel more like the home I know our church to be.
Today’s walk down will involve 3 folders, but hardly any pictures. The pictures in the folders 2010-02-03, 2010-02-11, and 2010-02-13 are some self-portraits and pictures for THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE, then known as THE RANDOM WEEKLY PHOTO EXPERIMENT.
The picture of me with the basketball was taken to commemorate an extremely rare victory for the Computer Mine basketball team. We were a decent team the first few years, but we quickly descended to becoming the “girlfriend game”.
There is no Computer Mine team now and I doubt there is a rec league this year, but I don’t know if these old bones will continue to play any more any ways. Maybe I have one more year in me. I’m certainly rested right now.
By adding these pictures to the Photography 139 Gallery, I was able to restore the following historic “An Artist’s Notebook” entries to their original glory:
Next Saturday’s walk down memory lane will involve hearts. At least I think it will involve hearts. It won’t involve hearts. It will involve flowers though.

I thought I would give you a break from flowers for a day and shows some pictures of some baby robins from my front yard. A pair of robins built a nest in my bush in my front yard for the second time this year. Here are some pictures:
I recently added a birdhouse and a second bird feeder to my property. Well it is really a first bird feeder, because I keep the first bird feeder for the wasp nest that I nurture.
Actually the second bird feeder was a gift from my Mom and the birdhouse was a gift from Kio. The second bird feeder has proved to be popular thus far.

This is just a cleanup of some photos I took of Naima and of a daisy that lives in the flower box on my garage. Took these on my birthday.
These pictures were before Naima had surgery, as you can tell, she doesn’t look weird. Her fur is slowly growing back, but I think it won’t be until the fall where her coat is even again.
