Personal Photo Project of the Week #137

I Often Dream of Trains
I Often Dream of Trains

This week’s Personal Photo Project was to photograph the train excursion that I went on with Jesse, Jay, Willy, Carla, Alexis, my Mom, and Grandma a couple weeks back.

It was a cool trip because it was the first time I had been over the new High Bridge and first time I’ve been over either High Bridge since they stopped bringing the 1385 to town almost 30 years ago.

I hope the Union Pacific makes this trip an annual Pufferbilly Days tradition.

Next week’s Personal Photo Project of the Week will involve flowers from the Iowa State Fair.

Train Ride

During Pufferbilly Days the Union Pacific brought some pretty cool stuff to town, including an excursion train across the High Bridge.

I got a group of people together and went. Here are a few photos from the experience:

The greatness of the event is getting to Jesse

That’s right. I’m pretty cool.

Lone Taco? Nay! Social Taco!

Iowa State vs. Tulsa

A couple weeks back I took the camera to Iowa State’s season opener. Derrick did an excellent job holding the secondary lens.

Here are a few pictures from the game:

Not sure how many games the rest of the season I’ll take the camera to, but wanted to do it at least once.

On an unrelated note, congratulations to Kim, who became the latest person to subscribe to Photography 139’s An Artist Notebook via an email subscription. Welcome aboard Kim!

Fairlicious

I only made it to the Iowa State Fair once this year. I went with Nader on the last day of the fair to pick up my entries for the Photography Salon.

I’ll try to do better next year.

I love the DNR Building!

Mmmmmmmmmm… Chocolate Moose!

Sara has already agreed that my birthday cake will look like this next year.

The Butterfly Exhibit was somewhat of a disappointment.

Not 100% sure what next week’s Random Wednesday will be. Probably some ISU football pictures.
