I only made it to the Iowa State Fair once this year. I went with Nader on the last day of the fair to pick up my entries for the Photography Salon.
I’ll try to do better next year.
Sara has already agreed that my birthday cake will look like this next year.
Not 100% sure what next week’s Random Wednesday will be. Probably some ISU football pictures.
I made it to the State Fair twice this year. I went once on a Friday to see Maroon 5 with Jill. Then on the last day of the Fair I went with my Mom. I met up with Derrick, Jen, and Evie. We ran into Sara, Shawn, and Cousin Amy. Here are some pictures from those trips:
The damage she did to that turkey leg.
Even though Jill is a Legacy Member of the Maroon 5 Fan Club, she felt our seats could have been better…
I thought that they were pretty good.
For some reason, Maroon 5 played before Train. Don’t know why, but at least we didn’t have to endure Train.
We heard the following at this stand a lot: “1 fried butter on a stick and a bottle of water, please!”
You can’t imagine how hard it was for me NOT to photoshop that terrible Hawk logo out of this picture, but trust me, despite what his wardrobe is telling the world, Shawn is a good guy. He just doesn’t know how to dress.
Looking forward to next year’s fair already!
Here are a few more pictures of my trip to the State Fair.
Last year I had only 1 goal and that was to see The Blue Band. Instead of getting to see The Blue Band I was nearly killed on a midway ride and spent the rest of the night trying not to vomit up my innards. This year I was able to see The Blue Band.
The DNR Building – One of my favorite buildings.
I would consider putting a pond in my yard, just so I could have water lilies.
A few pictures from my trip to the State Fair with Nader. We met up with Mom, Carla and Alexis. Later we met up briefly with the Baiers. I won them some Upper Iowa University band aids. I’m guessing their “Thank You” is in the mail.
At the end of the day Nader thanked me for the best day he has had all year. Quite frankly I wonder why more people don’t thank me for such things.
This sand sculpture is actually more interesting than the movies.
I love this painting! I want it hanging in my house. Just not for $300 smackers.
Alexis won a medal in a tumbling competition that didn’t look the safest to me.
Nader seemed to think this sculpture was of him.
A few more pictures coming on the morrow.
