Some squirrel and some Des Moines at night in the folder they call 07-14-07: Next “Saturday’s” folder will have something to do with hobos, I suspect.

These pictures didn’t have what it takes to make the cut for RURAL for this week’s WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE. Perhaps, some of them are just me playing with new camera settings: I don’t know. Maybe if these images just believed in themselves, they could accomplish something… something great.
These pictures didn’t have what it takes to make the cut for ANIMAL in this week’s WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: If only these pictures just believed in themselves a little bit more… they might do great things.
There seems to be a very strong recurring theme in the majority of this week’s submissions for ANIMAL. I didn’t get the weekly reminder out this week because I was sick most of last week and sickness always turns into laziness for me. But you don’t want to listen to… Read More »WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – WEEK 77 – ANIMAL
This blog has hit a milestone. This is the 2500th post since I started “An Artist’s Notebook” on August 9, 2006. A lot of different things have went through these pages over the last 10+ years, but I hope I’ve stayed true to the original vision I laid down in… Read More »Post No. 2500
These pictures didn’t have what it takes to make the cut for the GOVERNMENT theme for this week’s WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: Maybe these pictures aren’t so bad. Maybe if only the believed in themselves.
Looks like I went to Iowa State & Woodward for photos for the album called 07-04-07. Next Saturday’s walk down Memory Lane will be flower heavy.
These pictures were taken near my Mom’s alley. Next Saturday’s folder will involve a southern Boone County road trip I took back in 2007.
The remainder of the BLACK & WHITE photos that didn’t make the cut for the WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE from the BLACK & WHITE PHOTO ROAD TRIP. However, it isn’t the end of the rejects: Thanks for taking the time to help me mock this collection of pathetic losers.
The 9 Emotions Project Wall is no more. The 9 16×20 photos are gone. Technically they are stacked in the guest bedroom until I figure out what I’m going to do them. I’ve replaced them with 9 16×20 canvases to diversify the pictures on my wall and I have this… Read More »The Canvas Wall
Last night at Youth Group, as we were finishing up our re-writing of the Ten Commandments we had a special guest. Teresa brought her new pooch Mocha for the kids to play with and to illustrate a point about coveting. Here are a few pictures from last night: Most of… Read More »Special Guest
Lots of flowers and killdeer in the folder called 06-23-07. Next Saturday’s walk down memory lane will involve a road trip.
This is a cleanout of images from the end of May. A few of these images are from Brookside Park as well.
The folder called 06-19-07 includes folders of killdeer that I photographed with Steph and Yin and that time Jesse and I met the man that will probably be recorded by history as the best president of my lifetime. I’m not sure where next Saturday’s walk down memory lane will go.… Read More »06-19-07
It has been awhile since I did an Instagram post. This isn’t exactly one of those. This is just a look back at my most popular Instagram posts from 2016. Here they are: Just for fun, these were the 9 most popular in 2015: I don’t get what you would… Read More »Instagram Year in Review
Here are some of the images that were considered and rejected for either the cover or one of the months of the 2017 Photography 139 Calendar: So just hold on tight to those images. You won’t see them in 2017.
Here are the images that didn’t make the cut for the theme TRANSPORTATION for the WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: Thanks for taking the time to help mock this pathetic collection of losers!
A wide variety of photos from the folder named 06-09-07: Next week’s folder has some Becca in it.
I spent the last few days designing the 2017 Photography 139 Calendar. The design of this calendar is different than the last several years in a few different ways. 1. This isn’t a flower photography only calendar. There are flower pictures, but they are the minority. 2. Gone is all… Read More »2017 Photography 139 Calendar Cover
(Editor’s note: Pretend like I published it on the day I intended.) It is Black Friday. My least favorite day of the year. The day where my faith in humanity has to be reset as mass-consumerism runs amok. People fight each other. Sometimes kill one another, so they can save… Read More »Howard the Spider
As I was leaving the Junck farm a few months back I spied this guy hanging around by their driveway. I’m not going to identify the species of this guy because I know there is somebody out there waiting to say, “Well actually it is a 13 lined ground squirrel.”… Read More »Squirrelly
