Personal Photo Project of the Week #91

False Start

I’ve wanted to do a photo series based on the Ten Commandments for quite sometime now. This was originally an idea for, “Hey, don’t be murderizing anybody.” However, I’ve decided to take this in a different direction. So this is not a true start of that project.

Here are a few other False Start pictures.

Special thanks to Sara for securing an ask from her dad, no questions asked. He even sharpened it for me, even though he knew it was just a photo prop.

Happy Halloween 2011
Happy Halloween 2011!

Jay and I’s traditional pumpkin carving night got moved up one night, but despite the break with tradition Jay carved that awesome pumpkin to look like Naima. As you will see, my pumpkin carving skills are considerably less than Jay’s.

I’m not sure what I will be publishing here next Friday. Although I’m finding my mode again, there is no telling what way I’ll go.

I didn’t remotely get the picture that I was attempting when I blew up these tomatoes. I will have to attempt this again in the future. Here are a few more pictures from the Botch photo shoot:

Personal Photo Project of the Week #88

Hush
Hush

My mums bloomed later this year than most mums I saw around town. I think it might be their location in my yard, but it makes me think that when I tear out all the horrible evergreen bushes in my front yard next year that I might replace them with mums. Other flowers of course (maybe some tulips), but definitely some mums. The front of my house definitely needs more flowers. That is for sure.

Here are the rest of the Hush Series.

Next week’s Personal Photo Project might be about a bridge. Or it might be the beginning of my Ten Commandments Project or it might be the beginning of my 99% Project, but that last one is quite the long shot.

Truth Perception
Truth Perception

I should give thanks to Micky for helping make this picture possible. He saved a few lotus(es) from Lake Augustin.

I should also point out that while I thought about this picture for a long time, I didn’t really executed as wisely as I could have. I did set my Grandpa’s old stool on fire during this process, but don’t worry, they made stuff tough back then. That old stool is still kicking.

Here are the rest of the pictures from the Truth Perception Series:

Soul Expansion
Soul Expansion

Moonflowers are my favorite flowers. I really thought I would photograph them more than I did this year, but they were in their greatest glory during my creative malaise. However, I am pretty satisfied with a few of the pictures that I did get.

Personal Photo Project #85

Rancho Augustin

This personal photo project was to wander and photograph the man interesting things at Rancho Augustin (not an official title). The light quit on me quicker than I wanted, so I will have to revisit this place and project again.

Micky is undeniably the greatest frog photography assistant in the world. I look forward to working with him again in the future.

Greatest Poverty
Greatest Poverty

This Personal Photo Project consists of random flowers of mine (and well Jen and Derrick) that don’t fit into the flowers I make a point to photograph (lilies, daisies, irises, moonflowers, coneflowers, mums…).

Here are the rest of the “unloved” flowers:

I hope the intensity of my anger didn’t scare some of you off.

Not sure what I will publish next week. I’m still trying to get my filing system organized.

This collection of pictures is from the flower garden in the State Fair. My favorite lens broke right before I took these pictures. I believe you’ll be able to sense my anger in these pictures.
