Yellow. Yellow is the most recent filter from the super cheap filter set that I cracked out and tested. I still took mostly pictures of Naima, but I actually left my yard and went out to Dickcissel. This, was perhaps, not the best plan. With all the space to roam,… Read More »It Stands for the Sun
Spring has sprung! The new warmer weather has caused the creative juices to start salivating for all sorts of people. I’m saying it was a good week for participation. In fact, Mike Vest came out of retirement this week. Those of you that are long in the tooth with this… Read More »WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – WEEK 184 – STILL LIFE
The pictures from the folder 11-15-08 are from the final home game in Iowa State’s Gene Chizik era. I can still remember the afternoon I head that Chizik was leaving for Auburn. I was driving around with Jason looking at potential houses when the rumors came across the radio. We… Read More »11-15-08
This is the last collection of photos that I believe I’ll ever publish that were taken for the Boone Area Humane Society. Perhaps I shouldn’t say “ever”. But I’m guessing it will be for at the very least, for the foreseeable future. These pictures were taken at the Ericson Public… Read More »Summer Reading Kickoff
It has been awhile since I made some progress in my personal quest to meet, photograph, or at least see in person the politician that will take office as the next President of the United States in 2021. Way back in January I saw New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand at… Read More »President Quest 2020 – Cory Booker

It is time once again for the greatest sporting event of year. It is that time known as March Madness. The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Once again, I will be sponsoring a pool. There is not cost to enter the pool, except for pride. The winner gets a trophy. The… Read More »Roundball Oracles – Year 15

I feel it has been too long since I have had a post devoted to Naima. This is an error that I will correct today. These pictures come from an October trip to Dickcissel Park. Naima does enjoy getting in the water at Dickcissel, but she will only go as… Read More »The Driving Force
I think this is the final collection of pictures I took for the Boone First United Methodist Church Directory. I think these pictures were taken on Graduation Sunday. However, that isn’t the reason for the red balloons. I just can’t remember the reason for the red balloons. Might have been… Read More »Boone FUMC Church Directory: Chapter 5

FACELESS PORTRAIT turned out to be too daunting of a theme for many. Or perhaps the ice cold weather caused many creative juices to freeze up. Another week with subpar participation despite being perhaps the easiest theme of this set of 52. Weather I’m sure contributed. This week central Iowa is supposed to get two more snowstorms, so we’ll see how many people struggle through the elements for this week’s theme. But you didn’t come her… Read More »WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – WEEK 179 – SELF-PORTRAIT
