My friend Anders recently did a project where he wrote one short story a week. The point isn’t that you will write 52 great short stories, but it is really hard to write 52 bad short stories. Any way, I should I would try the project myself. Hopefully I’m not… Read More »Surprise Ahead! Reboot

Probably my favorite part of the Iowa State Fairgrounds in the garden next to the Agriculture Building. I only had a brief amount of time to enjoy the nation’s best state fair this year, so this was my first stop. The garden always has lots of zinnias, which is good,… Read More »Zing!
Tuesday night was the annual night where they let people take their dogs to the pool in Boone. This is the 3rd straight year I’ve taken Naima. For the 3rd straight year, she loved being in the wading pool and any place where her paws could touch the bottom. However,… Read More »Wet Pooch
I know quite a few people that would dislike this picture because one of the subjects isn’t giving a nice smile right at the camera. That is the exact reason why I love this picture. This picture was taken at my Grandma’s 90th Birthday Party. These are her children. A… Read More »Ohhh… Uncle Gary
Obviously I couldn’t wait too long without publishing a flower photo. This is a picture of a flower that was entered into the flower competition at the Iowa State Fair. Flower competitions remind me of an old quote: God loved the flowers and invented soil. Man loved the flowers and… Read More »Man Loved Flowers
I keep saying I’m going to get back to bloggin’, but it never seems to happen. Well I think if I get a lot less ambitious, things might work out. So I’m just going to try to throw up something daily-ish. I didn’t want to get back on the horse… Read More »Night Driving
Probably past time I posted some pictures from the mission trip to South Dakota. In reality I could tell a thousand stories about this trip and write a page about each picture, but I’ll hold back and be satisfied with a brief description of each picture. If you want to… Read More »South Dakota
The other day I had to mow my Mom’s lawn. Thought I might as well take a few pictures of her flowers. One of the few times that mowing was a joy.
Last night while I was working in the basement I heard Naima barking up a storm. I went outside to check on her and she was barking at a slightly tipped over garbage can. I looked down into the garbage can and barely visible in a half inch of black… Read More »Wet Squirrel

Although I haven’t touched the real camera lately, I have sorta documented some stuff with my cruddy camera on my phone. Thought I would post some of those from the last few months. Remember, these are taken with a cruddy camera phone. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already… Read More »Phonetos – Vol. 1
Still haven’t really got back to posting much lately, but let’s face it, I really haven’t even touched the camera much lately. I’ve been crazy busy with weddings and graduations and church activities that my free time has been at a premium lately. When I have had free time, I’ve… Read More »Still Laughing – 2015
Thought I might get to blogging. Maybe not on a regular basis. Certainly nothing all that planned out. Not sure why. Maybe I’m suddenly feeling inspired again. So I recently went to Gretchen’s first birthday party. Here are some images: So, until I’m inspired again.
Wow! What an amazing season of College Basketball. Especially in the state of Iowa. Almost everybody has something to cheer about: The Iowa State Cyclones won the Big 12 for the second straight year. They are looking to make good on Hoiberg’s promise of a national championship. The UNI Panthers… Read More »ROUNDBALL ORACLES YEAR 11

Jesse outtake from the holiday card photo shoot at the day job. There might be a couple more of these coming down the chute.
This hibiscus was new to my yard this year. It didn’t exactly “take off”, but I have high hopes for it next year.
Insect hanging out on one of my sunflowers. My sunflowers definitely attracted the bugs.
A bee on one of my sunflowers. This is not one of the bee type creatures that I had a battle with and defeated recently.
