Butane in My Veins

Here are a few of the losers that didn’t make the cut for my submission to THE WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE! To think, I almost gifted that wig (that was a gift from Jen) to Willy. Still might.

Not Love

Thought it would be a good time to share a picture of a flower from my backyard. I don’t post too many photos of my backyard flowers because I don’t want people to get too jealous of my green thumb. PARTICULARS CAMERA: SONY SLT-A65V FOCAL LENGTH: 60mm (90mm – 35mm… Read More »Not Love

Houston on Fire

We’ve been fighting a losing battle against the insects for fifteen years, but I never thought I’d see the final face-off in my lifetime. And I never dreamed, that it would turn out to be the bees. They’ve always been our friend. -Brad Crane Many of you might not remember… Read More »Houston on Fire

Mo’ Better Oinge

I must really like these flowers because I took lots of pictures of them. I threatened an all flower week a couple weeks back, but this might be that week. Thug Life

Although this undeniably falls into the category of posed photo, I still enjoy it as it shows flashes of truth. And we all know what Picasso said about art and the truth… right? The Howard Children and their Significant Others I should make a quick note that with this journal… Read More »Thug Life

Incidental

Here are a few pictures I like that come from New Toy, but don’t fit into any particular narrative. Went to Hilton Madness with Willy and Derrick. Fizer and Frese mixing it up with the young pups. Youth Room Mike, John, and Tim at the Event Formerly Known as the… Read More »Incidental

Realism

It seems like a good time to return to the Iowa State Fair flower garden. This also isn’t the picture that got me kicked out of the flower garden, but that one is coming up soon. I swear. PARTICULARS CAMERA: SONY SLT-A65V FOCAL LENGTH: 60mm (90mm – 35mm equivalency) ISO:… Read More »Realism

Taco Tailgate

In honor of Tacoctober a few friends from the mine and I held a taco tailgate before the Iowa State-Texas Christian football match recently. It seemed like a good time to squeeze off a few shots on the new toy. Here are a few shots from Taco Tailgate 2015: Since… Read More »Taco Tailgate

Side

I obviously couldn’t go through the entire week without posting 1 flower picture. Russell would leave the family out of protest, I have no doubts… Another flower picture from my trip to the Iowa State Fair. PARTICULARS CAMERA: SONLY SLT-A65V FOCAL LENGTH: 60mm (35mm equivalency – 90mm) ISO: 1250 APERTURE:… Read More »Side

I Was A Monkey

It took many shots to get my submission for GREEN in this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge. Thought I would share some of the failures that are cool in their own right. Jay was the assistant-slash-balloon-smasher for this photo project.

New Toy

We recently held an auction at the Computer Mine. The one thing in the auction that I really coveted was a blue Canon A4000 IS. I’m not a Canon guy at all. However, I’ve been sans point and shoot for a couple years now and there are times (like mission… Read More »New Toy

Coming Soon…

Actually, not coming soon. They are already there. Recently my sister Teresa came across a collection of theater seats at the Funky Rooster. She was able to negotiate a sweet deal and after borrowing a truck from the Petersons and getting Derrick to help load them and Willy to help… Read More »Coming Soon…

You Lookin’ at Me?

I’ve always said that my favorite pictures of people are when they are being real and not the posed holiday card variety. Perhaps this is why I have so few portrait accounts. Also perhaps why I don’t have a Christmas card. In between painting my house and going out for… Read More »You Lookin’ at Me?

Oinge

It has been almost a week since I posted a flower picture and I’m sure that Russell was probably getting a little antsy, so I’ll post one of my favorite pictures that I took at the Iowa State Fair. I might even finish the week out back to back to… Read More »Oinge
